Human Trafficking Recruiters Still Operate Widely

KN. Indonesia has tightened border controls to combat human trafficking and illegal labor recruitment. Between January and July 2026, immigration authorities prevented 8,287 Indonesians from departing through unauthorized employment channels and rejected 9,394 passport applications suspected of facilitating illegal overseas work, according to the Directorate General of Immigration.
