Indonesia Explores Expanding Migrant Worker Market to United States

KN. The Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Ministry was exploring ways to expand job opportunities for Indonesian migrant workers in the United States, said  Deputy Minister Christina Aryani. She discussed the plan during a virtual meeting with Indonesian Ambassador to the United States Indroyono Soesilo and Indonesian consuls general across the United States. Aryani said coordination with Indonesian diplomatic missions remains important because opening new labor markets requires a clear understanding of workforce needs, regulations, and employment mechanisms in destination countries. She added that the government still needs further studies and coordination, including on visa requirements, which play an important role in placing Indonesian migrant workers in the United States.
