In Batang Asai District, Sarolangun Regency, Jambi, Sadat, Raden Anom Village Community, Muaro Seluro Hamlet, Batang Asai District, Sarolangun Regency said that currently there are mining activities using heavy equipment in the form of three excavators operating in the upstream area of the Batang Seluro River and Raden Anom Village, Batang Asai District.
This is a form of representing the aspirations of the Muaro Seluro Hamlet community who are asking for assistance and action from the authorities to regulate these mining activities, because they are considered to have the potential to damage protected forest areas that should be preserved.
“The local community has been committed to protecting forest areas as an ancestral heritage for generations. Forests not only function as natural resources, but also as ecosystem buffers that play a role in maintaining the balance of nature, water availability, and environmental sustainability in the area,” he said further.
