KN. Economic Affairs Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto said that the final outcome of the Indonesia–U.S. tariff agreement is now simply awaiting the scheduling of a meeting between Indonesian President Prabowo and U.S. President Donald Trump. The final stage of the tariff agreement is essentially ready and faces no substantive obstacles, but it requires a head-of-state-level meeting to be concluded.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Susiwijono Moegiarso said Indonesian businesses can expect “surprises,” particularly for leading commodities with high export volumes to the United States. He said the tariff negotiations delivered very positive results, adding that Indonesia secured optimal outcomes for several key exports. Susiwijono expressed hope that the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) would grant tariff privileges that expand market access for Indonesian products, and said he was optimistic the agreement would help drive national economic growth, especially in the first quarter of 2026.
