KN. An estimated 20,000 Indonesian students are studying in China during the 2025-2026 academic year, far outnumbering the roughly 1,000 Chinese students in Indonesia. Speaking at the inauguration of the Beijing Foreign Studies University alumni office in Jakarta, alumni leaders said people-to-people exchanges are key to advancing Indonesia-China strategic cooperation.
They said the office would serve as a bridge between the two countries, with Indonesians educated in China increasingly acting as cultural and professional links. The Chinese Embassy welcomed input to strengthen mutual understanding in line with Belt and Road cooperation.
