KN. Indonesia has once again condemned Israel’s attacks on Palestine, which resulted in increasing casualties. Indonesia also expressed concern over the deteriorating situation in Gaza and Rafah, which was exacerbated by Israel’s threat to use nuclear weapons.
“Such unreasonable statements amid the military aggression carried out by Israel against Palestine are very irresponsible. Indonesia believes that the threat to use nuclear weapons under any circumstances is contrary to international law and cannot be accepted,” said Alfiano Tamala, Indonesia’s Deputy Ambassador to Austria, Slovenia, and International Organizations in Vienna, at the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) Board of Governors meeting in Vienna.

She said D-8 members must continue to use their influence to get more countries to recognize Palestine and strive for Palestine to become a full U.N. member.

In a demonstration themed “Indonesian People’s Alliance Action to Defend Palestine” in the Horse Statue near the National Monument area, Jakarta, former Muhammadiyah Central Board Chair Din Syamsuddin called on the Indonesian government to send military aid to Gaza, Palestine to stop Israel’s attacks on the region.
This proposal is said to be the result of discussions with the Fatwa Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). According to Din, Israel has committed serious human rights crimes against the Palestinian people. Furthermore, the rally also urged the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for war crimes in Gaza.

Israeli war cabinet minister Benny Gantz quit Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, heaping domestic pressure on the Israeli leader as the war in Gaza rages. The former general and defense minister announced his resignation from the emergency body after failing to get a post-war plan for Gaza approved by Netanyahu, which he demanded in May.
The centrist politician’s departure is not expected to bring down the government, a coalition including religious and ultra-nationalist parties, but it marks the first major political blow to Netanyahu eight months into the Gaza war against Palestinian Hamas militants. Experts say Netanyahu could now be forced to rely more heavily on his right-wing partners.
