Government Launches Program to Repatriate Citizens’ Assets

KN. The government plans to launch a program early next year to repatriate assets held overseas by Indonesian citizens, targeting Singapore, the United States, and China. The Finance Ministry and the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) will work together to identify and bring back these assets using tax amnesty and financial transaction data.

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said the government will investigate large overseas holdings starting early next year, citing the end of the grace period for 2026 Tax Amnesty and the 2022 Voluntary Disclosure Program (PPS), as well as rising fund transfers from Indonesia to other countries.
