KN. Indonesia has decided to participate in the Trump-backed Board of Peace, which calls for nations to contribute $1 billion or IDR16.7 trillion to become permanent members. According to Purbaya, the government has yet to discuss in detail where the funding for the Board of Peace is sourced. “I believe the majority will come from the State Budget,” he said.
Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Anis Matta said that although Indonesia has joined the Board of Peace, Indonesia will not be involved in disarmament in Gaza, Palestine. “Indonesia will also not be involved in the demilitarization and disarmament in Gaza. Indonesia’s participation in the Board of Peace remains based on the constitutional mandate to support Palestinian independence,” he said.
